Cresp 40 mcg Injection contains darbepoetin alfa, a recombinant erythropoiesis-stimulating agent used to treat symptomatic anemia associated with chronic kidney disease and anemia related to chemotherapy in cancer patients. It works by binding to erythropoietin receptors on red blood cell precursors in the bone marrow, stimulating the production and maturation of red blood cells and increasing hemoglobin levels. With a longer half-life than natural erythropoietin, Cresp allows for less frequent dosing while helping to reduce the need for blood transfusions and improve symptoms of anemia such as fatigue and weakness.
