Zynesp 100 mcg Injection contains darbepoetin alfa, a long acting erythropoiesis stimulating agent used for the treatment of symptomatic anemia associated with chronic kidney disease in patients on dialysis as well as those not receiving dialysis. It is also prescribed for managing anemia caused by chemotherapy in adult cancer patients. The medicine works by stimulating erythropoietin receptors in the bone marrow, increasing red blood cell production and improving hemoglobin levels. Its prolonged duration of action allows for less frequent dosing compared to conventional erythropoietin therapies, helping reduce the need for blood transfusions while improving symptoms such as fatigue, weakness and breathlessness.
