Tresiba 100 U/ml FlexTouch contains insulin degludec which is an ultra-long-acting basal insulin used to manage type 1 and type 2 diabetes by maintaining stable background insulin levels over extended periods. It works by slowly releasing insulin over 24 hours and often up to 42 hours to mimic natural basal insulin and suppress excessive glucose production by the liver while facilitating uptake of glucose by muscle and fat cells leading to more stable blood sugar levels throughout the day and night. The FlexTouch pen offers flexible once-daily dosing with precise unit-by-unit dose adjustment and convenient subcutaneous injection enabling better adherence and ease of use. How do I take Tresiba 100 U/ml FlexTouch?
Use Tresiba FlexTouch exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Attach a new needle before each injection, select your dose in units, and inject subcutaneously under the skin in the abdomen, thighs, upper arms or buttocks. Do not inject into a vein or muscle. Rotate your injection site each time and avoid injecting into skin that is bruised, red, hard or has lumps
What side effects should I watch for?
Common side effects may include low blood sugar which may cause sweating, shakiness, hunger, dizziness, headache, fast heartbeat or irritability. Injection site reactions such as redness, itching or swelling may occur. Some people may experience weight gain, swelling of hands or feet or changes in the fat tissue under the skin. Severe low blood sugar, allergic reactions or sudden swelling require immediate medical attention

How should I store Tresiba 100 U/ml FlexTouch at home?
Store unused pens in a refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. Do not freeze. Once in use the pen can be stored at room temperature below 30 degrees Celsius or in the refrigerator. Use the pen within 8 weeks after first use even if some insulin remains. Keep the pen away from heat, sunlight and moisture. Do not use if the insulin looks discoloured. Keep out of reach of children
