Samtica 250 mg Tablet contains abiraterone acetate, an androgen biosynthesis inhibitor used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer in adult men, including metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer and metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer when used along with androgen deprivation therapy and corticosteroids. It works by blocking the CYP17 enzyme involved in testosterone production, thereby lowering androgen levels that fuel prostate cancer growth and helping slow disease progression. Samtica is usually prescribed in combination with low dose prednisone or prednisolone and should be taken on an empty stomach as advised by the treating oncologist.
